Tying the Classic Salmon Fly is my first book published by Stackpole Books in 1997. It is Hardcover featuring 202 color photos and 29 b/w illustrations on 226 pages. The book measures 8 1/2 x 11 inches.

Tying the Classic Salmon Fly teaches you, the tyer, all the necessary fly tying techniques you will need to master tying the Classic Salmon Fly. The first chapter explains all the parts of a typical fully-dressed salmon fly. The next three chapters cover tying a fully dressed, married wing fly, a beautiful full-feather wing fly and a typical strip-wing or Dee-type fly. The three master tyers - Wayne Luallen, Mark Waslick and Bob Veverka, all of whom are recognized world-wide - take you step-by-step from start to finish showing how they approach tying these flies.

The rest of the book features articles on working with materials, how to master material dyeing techniques, how to make exhibition-quality salmon fly hooks, and how to mat and frame your flies.

The final chapter is a gallery of beautifully tied salmon flies by master tyers who exhibit talent and dedication to this fine art.

All books purchased from this site will be specially inscribed by me for the buyer.
